California Public School Educated

I understand the needs of California’s public schools—because I lived it as a student from elementary school through high school in the Napa Unified School District and because I’m a mom to a RUSD student and a RUSD graduate.

I spent my early childhood in Puerto Rico, after which my family moved to California. As a young girl growing up in Napa, I ran my own small business raising sheep. Even as a young student, I had a deep understanding of the key role that school boards play and regularly advocated about curriculum changes before Napa’s own school board.

After graduating from Napa Unified’s Vintage High School, I studied human biology at Stanford. After working in reproductive health policy in New York, I obtained a law degree from the University of Chicago.

I spent 20-plus years as a practicing lawyer and then returned to my business roots. I am now the Tiburon-based Vice President of Operations and Business Development at Costa Isabela Partners—a real estate development company focused on sustainable projects in Puerto Rico designed to bring economic revitalization and jobs to the island.

A commitment to our school district

My most important honor, and accomplishment, is being a mother. In 2013, just before our oldest daughter, Ella, started kindergarten, my husband and I moved to Tiburon so that our daughters could attend RUSD schools. Today, Ella is a 2022 Del Mar graduate and currently a freshman at the Branson School. And Charlotte is a Ms. McKay Fifth Grader at Bel Aire.

Since we joined the school district, I have been actively engaged with RUSD as a volunteer and parent. I served for many years in the leadership of our Foundation for Reed Schools, including as a past VP of Family Giving. And I have found incredible joy working hand-in-hand with our teachers and administrators as a room parent.

I feel blessed every day to be part of the wonderful RUSD community and for the exceptional education that my children have received. I have enjoyed giving back to our district’s students as a volunteer, and I am eager and ready to do so now as your elected Trustee.
